Per quanto riguarda il significato che ha l'immagine per me...beh, credo sia scontato, perdersi...come diceva Tolkien "Not all those who wander are lost.", credo che una delle differenze fondamentali di questo tipo di viaggio sia proprio che ad un certo punto la cartina vada rimessa in tasca e ci si lasci trasportare dalle emozioni, ci si lasci ATTIRARE in una direzione senza pensare al dopo.
